Fun Facts
I'm the type of person who always tries to make people laugh and lighten the mood. I hate seeing people sad and I always try my best to cheer them up! I guess I could be considered a "nerd" because I love video games, books, and movies. My friends describe me as spontaneous and caring.
About Me
I began my college experience at Delta Community College, which I attended for 2 years, both of which I made the Dean's List. I am currently a Senior Psychology major at wayne-state-university">Wayne State University. I am graduating in the winter and hope to attend Wayne State's Physical Therapy program. My passion lies in anything Anatomy and Physiology related and I am one of the leaders of the Pre-Physical Therapy Association and have over 300 hours of volunteer work. My ultimate goal is to teach physical therapy at a university
I was the Team Leader of my team in my Human Physiology course at wayne-state-university">Wayne State University. It was my duty to ensure my teammates understood the material, so I set up private one-on-one study sessions with my team members and answered any questions they had and went over challenging topics. All of the other teams focused primarily on large study groups, while I concentrated on private detroit">tutoring. My method paid off when each one of my teammates increased their exam scores by an average of 15% from their previous exam. Although that class has ended, I still continue to detroit">tutor friends, family, and fellow peers.
I have always believed that the best way to learn is one-on-one. Classes can be big and intimidating which means a student is less likely to ask a question and more likely to become confused. Sitting down with a person who knows the material, asking questions, and practicing problems is the most efficient way of learning. Stress can inhibit the way we think and learn. When I detroit">tutor someone, I make the effort to eliminate stress. I do this by insuring there is no one else around, unless the student or parent suggest otherwise and if there are people around I make sure they are not within earshot of our study session. I want the student to feel comfortable so I encourage interaction! Patience is the key to learning, and I have a lot of it!
