Fun Facts
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time outdoors, walking dogs, reading books, and meeting new and old friends over cups of coffee.
About Me
I am a graduate of Kankakee Community College and Western Governor's University. I received my Associate Degree in Nursing in 2001 and my Bachelor of Science Degree in 2020. I specialize in Women's Health, Obstetrics, Neonatal, and Pediatrics. Throughout my career, I have tutored nursing students in 1:1 and group classroom settings. In the clinical setting, I have mentored many university students as well as new and experienced nurses. I have experience designing nursing simulations both with and without simulation equipment. I spent 7 years living in Africa working for an international healthcare non-profit at a director level where I frequently trained and led international meetings via online video platforms such as Skype, Zoom, and Google Meet.
Experience
While I enjoy tutoring a broad range of math and science subjects, I am most passionate about nursing courses and NCLEX preparation. I love to teach, inspire and encourage the next generation of nurses. I have over 20 years of experience as a nursing mentor, tutor, preceptor, and leader both in the US and internationally. I have a thorough understanding of the types of questions you can expect on the NCLEX, as well as how to determine the best option when you aren't sure of the answer.
Approach
I find creative ways to engage students so that learning is fun and exciting. I believe that every student has the potential to learn, but they sometimes get stuck when working on new concepts. My goal is to help the learner understand their learning style so that studying and tutoring sessions can be the most efficient and productive.
