Fun Facts

I love to be active, this can range from playing tennis with my friends or going on a hike. I can drive with both my left and right foot because I had to learn to drive with my left so that I could still commute after I fractured my right foot. During this time I also had to travel 2.5 miles in crutches around campus for a week! I enjoy watching and dissecting films. I still have not seen a recent movie that tops Parasite, but my favorite film of all time is Pulp Fiction. I also have 3 siblings.

About Me

I am currently a second-year student at UCR and I'm switching my major to Business Administration. I used to commute to UCR because I currently work a full-time job at Bakers Drive Thru as a crew leader. Being a full-time worker and a full-time student can be stressful but it has taught me great time management skills, and it showcases my commitment to education, as I have maintained a 3.96 GPA and I'm set on graduating with a high GPA. People consider to me to be a friendly and welcoming person

Experience

As a member of AVID in high school, we would have TRF sessions where students would present their questions and we would help clarify their confusion and solve the problem. Since I was at a high level of math, the teachers allowed me to be a peer tutor and lead TRF groups (this role was typically filled by another adult employee). I also have a brother in middle school who, I recently helped understand the concept of velocity. I also have experience with younger children as my sister is 7.

Approach

While I have not conducted any formal tutoring sessions, I believe the best approach to tutoring would be one with positive reinforcement, and a goal to not only solve the problems but to grasp a firm understanding of the topic. Once the student has developed an understanding and has the confidence in themselves to tackle similar problems, my job has been completed and they are well equipped to proceed and excel in the given subject matter.
