Fun Facts

I truly enjoy reading, if I could read on the beach everyday that is what I would do! I also love to be outdoors hiking and camping. I also love singing and playing the piano when I have a chance. I am not the best at either but it brings me joy, and it is always fun to learn new skills.

About Me

I am a senior Environmental Studies and Sustainability major at Michigan State University. I have always had a passion for science, being outside, and environmental issues and this major has allowed me to do something I love. I enjoy educating others on the importance of environmental issues, and protecting the outdoors, I hope to one day find a career where I am able to do both of those things.

Experience

I have tutored all 5 of my younger siblings since I was in middle school myself. My parents were often at work which left me responsible for their homework and studying. I am thankful for that experience because it gave me the opportunity to realize that I enjoy educating others. In college I had the opportunity to educate the "trail user community" in Michigan about the importance of trail safety.

Approach

My whole life I have struggled with test taking. This has allowed for many years of trial and error for what works best for me. Through this I have tried many methods and found some that I believe work great. One strategy for studying and retaining information I learned in high school was to go over the information learned in class like you are teaching it. This allows for your brain to believe that the information needs to be retained in order to teach others.
