Fun Facts
Although I am studying Electrical Engineering, I enjoy a nice dose of poetry, art, music and martial arts in my life. I also have two black belts, one in Tae Kwon Do and another in Arnis. I have studied martial arts for about fifteen years and still train on my own. As for the arts, I love to draw, write poetry, sing, or play guitar, bass, drums or piano!
About Me
I am currently a junior, about to be a senior in washington/seattle">seattle-university">washington/seattle">Seattle University's Electrical Engineering program. With an Electrical Engineering degree on my belt, I hope to help shape the world into a positive image for our children and beyond. This change will hopefully come through my work with signal-related studies in the future.
I have tutored mathematics at bellevue-college">Bellevue College while in the Running Start program. I tutored college students twice a week in the spectrum of algebra classes that bellevue-college">Bellevue College provided. While there, I have received Level One Certification from the state as well and hope to obtain a Level Two Certification someday. Although this is not considered washington/washington/seattle">seattle">tutoring, I have also taught martial arts at my martial arts school while I was training there as well. I became an Assistant Instructor at age 13, where I helped the Instructor teach a class, helping out those who needed help and answered questions that needed answers. When I was 18, I was promoted to an Instructor, where I led my own class and helped the Assistant Instructors to, one day, become Instructors themselves.
In regards to my washington/washington/seattle">seattle">tutoring approach, it all depends on the student; for instance, if the student is a visual learner, I would be sure to use a lot of board-based problem solving and elaboration while allowing them to also use the board to solve the problem at hand. If the student is a more hands-on learner, I would be sure to bring some form of prop appropriate to the situation and make sure they understand the problems. If the student is more of an auditory learner, I would be sure to emphasize certain elements of the mathematical curriculum, making sure they get the proper information that best suits their learning style. All in all, my washington/washington/seattle">seattle">tutoring approach will be based on the students. I will also make sure they are smiling after and during the session with humor and such for a better time.
