Fun Facts
When I'm not hitting the books, I enjoy watching movies, listening to podcasts and music, and spending LOTS of lazy cuddling time with my cat. My favorite movie is Spirited Away by Hayao Miyazaki, which I truly believe is a timeless classic for the child in all of us - not just children. Also, fun fact - I am multilingual, being fluent in 4 languages, and am currently learning my fifth!
About Me
I have taught inside Classrooms and Learning Centers. I attended NJIT, majoring in ME, and towards the end of my Sophomore year, I decided to become a peer tutor on campus. What started as a "why not" decision quickly turned into a passion that pushed me into pursuing a career in education, because soon I found myself tutoring at different Learning Centers, and then teaching Algebra 1, 2 and PreCalc in a classroom! I'm a fan of all things Math, and hope to instill that love to my students also.
Experience
I have been working as an educator since 2015, when I started as a peer tutor, helping my peers with classes like College Algebra, PreCalc and Calc. The following year, I decided to explore more options and joined the staff of Mathnasium, where I was quickly promoted to the role of Lead Instructor. In Fall of 2019, I transitioned to a classroom at Immaculate Conception High School, taking charge of Algebra 1, Algebra 2 and Coding sections. My main goal at Frog Tutoring is to reach more students!
Approach
I like to start off with every student by first knowing a little about them - mainly figuring out what it is that motivates them. A driven learner is always stronger than one who is not. "Mathphobia" is caused by lack of motivation, and once you get them eager to learn, the Math fear disappears on its own. Sometimes I do wish I could go back in time with the knowledge I have now, but being that that's impossible, I instead have this goal to give it to every young student out there today.
