Fun Facts
I loved choose-your-own adventure books so much as a kid that I grew up to want to tell interactive stories. For my thesis I created a film allowing the audience to connect and change the plot with their phones as they watch. In the future I want to explore the untapped possibilities of new media and web-based storytelling.
About Me
I am a 2014 graduate from NYU Abu Dhabi (cum laude, 3.83 GPA) with a major in Film & New Media and a minor in Social Research & Public Policy. Currently I work part time as a videographer for the Flatiron School, an extremely cool startup teaching coding skills to graduates and kids 13-18.
In high school I tutored younger students for credit. I covered geometry, english, AP Biology, and music theory. At university I led study groups for Arabic language and Statistics. My strengths are in math, writing, high school science and social science, ACT (I got a 34), music, and film editing.
I like to make games for each lesson to bring some variety in activities. To teach math I used dice, plastic shapes, and little videos I made at home. Sometimes if the student is really having trouble focusing I like to keep a game of chess or checkers going on the side, and after every problem we accomplish in the lesson we get to make one move in the game.
My father currently works as a freelance tutor back home in St. Cloud Minnesota and would surely give me great advice as I teach.
