Fun Facts

A fun fact about me is I love nature. I have a true passion for all things outdoors. I love to go on hikes, camping and more recently I have started to enjoy gardening. We live in the Midwest and I tend to be outside rain or shine, cold or hot. I enjoying learning about all things nature and wildlife biology.

About Me

I am currently a stay at home mom. I have recently taken on this position, but in the past I was an early childhood teacher. I have also been a homeschool tutor. Other then nature I have a true passion for teaching young children. One of my favorite things to teach is reading and phonics. Seeing a child learning how to explore the world around them with reading is an amazing thing.

Experience

Before becoming a stay at home mom I was an Early Childhood teacher. I worked with students age 2-10. I did everything from teach preschool to help with homework tutoring. To go along with this I also had to create lesson plans that geared to a Childs specific needs or wants wants.

Approach

Growing up I had an IEP, which means I needed special accommodations for learning. As I have grown up and gone threw college I have learned different ways to learn and adapt to best be able to grow with my education. I truly believe that all children learn different and something we often forget is we need to teach children how to learn. What I mean is a missed skill set is being able to teach a child different ways to learn, my favorite being a more positive reinforcement approach.
