Fun Facts
My favorite sport is basketball and I'm a huge fan of the UConn Huskies and Miami Heat. In fact, I was on my high school basketball team for two years. I like a lot of other sports as well including football and hockey. In my senior year of college, I studied abroad in Germany and traveled to Berlin, Strasbourg, France and Vienna, Austria. My favorite shows I'm currently watching now are Scooby Doo! Mystery Incorporated, FBI, Law and Order: Organized Crime and Shadow and Bone.
About Me
I graduated from the connecticut">University of Connecticut in 2019 with a Bachelor's degree in journalism and human rights. During my time there I took courses in news writing, journalism ethics, journalism law, political science, history and sociology. These classes taught me how to analyze politics from the local to international level and write scripts for news and entertainment. My long-term goal is become a reporter for a multimedia company and produce informative and engaging stories.
Experience
In high school, I was an after-school counselor for 2nd and 3rd grade students at the local elementary school. Primarily I was tasked with monitoring the students' activities, but I would also help the students with homework if they needed it. I let them ask questions they had about the material first, before going forward to assist them with the material.
Approach
My tutoring approach to students would be assessing their learning style first, then helping them understand the material using that style. For example, I am a visual and kinetic learner. I understand the material best if the lecturer draws out the equation, writes on the board or shows a demonstration of the material, then I can follow along. Since every student learns differently, I will do my best to make sure they understand the material at their own pace.
