One of the things I enjoy most is the ocean. One of the cooler facts about me is that since my freshman year at miami">University of Miami I have been doing shark tagging and research. About Me
I go to miami">University of Miami where I am getting a major in Marine Biology and a triple minor in Ecosystem Science and Policy, Mathematics and Chemistry. I am currently entering my senior year and have a 3.9 GPA. Every semester I have gotten on the Dean's or Provost's list or both. After I graduate I want to head over to Fiji and do shark research there for a year. After that I plan to go to Grad school for marine biology specializing in shark research
I have been miami">tutoring since my first year in high school. During my freshman and sophomore years I tutored three elementary school kids in things like science, math and English. I also helped them in various projects. After that I started miami">tutoring my brother, mostly in math every day after school. In my senior year of high school I also tutored my older sister in college algebra. During my freshmen year of college I also tutored a high school boy in precalculus and algebra. Lastly, during the past three years I have been teaching scuba lessons to children and adults alike which includes doing book work and explaining basic physics concepts
When I miami">tutor students my approach is to first find out what basic concepts they know and which ones they struggle with. After I've figured that out I like to build on those basic concepts by explaining them. The way I like to explain things, is if possible, dumbing it down and trying to related it to real life situations. Then I like to do some practice problems with them making them harder and harder as we practice. The last step is having them practice on their own without my help until they have mastered the problem
