About Me

I am a junior Biomedical Engineering major at the Illinois Institute of Technology. After graduation, I hope to pursue a PhD in Biomedical Engineering with the goal of completing meaningful research throughout my career!

Experience

In high school, I was a member of National Honor Society, where I helped mentor students in the years below me. In college, I continued to help classmates. I love helping people understand science and math, potentially sparking the same passion I see in myself!

Approach

In high school and at the beginning of college, I found it very difficult to reach out and ask for help when I was struggling. I had a crippling fear of failure and found it hard to admit I needed help in school. Eventually, when reaching out I found support, understanding, and a passion for the subjects I was learning. As a tutor, I hope to bring support to my clients and alleviate the pressure of asking for help.

Calculus I Tutoring

I completed AP Calculus AB my junior year of high school. I got a 4 out of a total of 5 points on the exam. This score gave me credit for Calculus 1 as an engineering major at an ABET accredited institution.

Chemistry I Tutoring

I completed Pre-AP chemistry and AP Chemistry in high school. On the AP Chemistry exam I earned a score of 3 out of 5 points. This was not enough to give me college credit, however, so I took General Chemistry I in my first semester of college where I passed with flying colors (A) due to my abundant background.

Pre Calculus Tutoring

I completed Pre-Calc in my sophomore year of high school. I have gone on to complete Calculus I-Calculus III with excellent grades. I have abundant knowledge in Calculus, Pre-Calculus Algebra, Trigonometry, Geometry, and other math topics which may be covered under the umbrella term "Pre Calculus".

Algebra Tutoring

I completed Algebra I in 7th grade. I have since completed Algebra II, Calculus I-III, Matrix Algebra, and more. All of these above classes are heavily reliant on a good foundation in basic Algebra concepts.

Algebra II Tutoring

I completed Algebra I in my freshman year of high school. I have since completed Algebra II, Calculus I-III, Matrix Algebra, and more. All of these above classes are heavily reliant on a good foundation in basic Algebra concepts.

AP Chemistry Tutoring

I completed Pre-AP chemistry and AP Chemistry in high school. On the AP Chemistry exam I earned a score of 3 out of 5 points. This was not enough to give me college credit, however, so I took General Chemistry I in my first semester of college where I passed with flying colors (A) due to my abundant background.

AP Physics Tutoring

I complete AP Physics: Mechanics (Algebra Based) in my senior year of high school. I studied and took the exam for the AP Physics C: Mechanics, however and passed with a score of 4 out of 5. This was because, as an engineering major, only calc based physics would give me credit towards my degree.

Biology AP Tutoring

In high school, I did not take AP Biology. However, I did take 11 other AP classes, so I am very familiar with the structure of the exams. I have also since taken General Biology I, Human Biology, and many many biomedical engineering courses which rely on a good foundation in biology.

Calculus Tutoring

I completed AP Calc AB with a 4 out of a 5 point system, earning college credit for Calculus 1. I completed Calculus II at a community college in my senior year of high school. I took Differential equations and Calculus III in college with grades of B and A respectively.

Pre Algebra Tutoring

I completed Pre-Algebra in 6th grade. I have since completed Algebra II, Calculus I-III, Matrix Algebra, and more. All of these above classes are heavily reliant on a good foundation in basic Algebra concepts.

Psychology Tutoring

I completed AP Psychology in my junior year of high school. I got a perfect score on the exam. I have since taken elective courses in college in Psychology. It is not directly related o my major but I perform well in those classes and am fascinated by the concepts.

Reading Comprehension Tutoring

I took AP LIT and AP Lang in my senior and junior years of high school respectively. Reading comprehension is an art, and for me (as a STEM-minded person), it was very much a learned skill. My approach to reading comprehension is somewhat formulaic and calculated.

Spanish I Tutoring

In high school and middle school, I completed 5 years of Spanish courses. I ended up taking AP-Spanish, but not the AP exam due to circumstances with the COVID-19 pandemic. I did get A's in all 5 years though.

Spanish II Tutoring

In high school and middle school, I completed 5 years of Spanish courses. I ended up taking AP-Spanish, but not the AP exam due to circumstances with the COVID-19 pandemic. I did get A's in all 5 years though.

English Tutoring

Middle School Math Tutoring

I completed Algebra I in 7th grade. I have since completed Algebra II, Calculus I-III, Matrix Algebra, and more. All of these above classes are heavily reliant on a good foundation in basic Algebra concepts.

Physical Science Tutoring

I'm majoring in biomedical engineering. I have a very solid foundation in the sciences. This includes Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.

Basic Computer Skills Tutoring

As a part of generation Z, I was almost born with computer literacy skills. In college, I have gained programming skills, computer organizational skills, but most of all I've exercised this computer literacy A LOT since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

MATLAB Tutoring

As an engineering student, I do quite a bit of work in MATLAB. I first gained experience in an introductory course to MATLAB in my first semester, which I earned a B in, then in my second semester, I learned matrix functions, making your program user friendly, manipulating images, and created an algorithm to circle figures in an image. In my third semester, I took a mathematical modeling course based in MATLAB, where I learned methods of curve fitting, interpolation, solving PDEs, etc.
