Fun Facts
I am absolutely obsessed with the arts. I started taking singing lessons and studying music theory when I was seven. After that, in elementary school I began playing the violin and once I got into high school I started dancing.
I also love reading. My nook is my best friend! Right now I am on the Inheritance series by Christopher Paolini and after I finish this series I plan to read the Harry Potter series again.
About Me
I am a freshman Biology major and Spanish minor at Texas Christian University. I am on the Pre-med track and I hope to gain admittance to medical school in the near future. I do not know what specific type of doctor I aspire to be but I do know that I would love to work with children.
In high school I was involved with the National Honors Society which allowed me to tutor at the local recreation center in Arlington, Texas. I tutored for two years, twice every week. I worked with two different 2nd graders in the span that I volunteered at the center. It was by far my favorite extracurricular activity. Now at TCU, I work as a mentor for high school students through the Go Center. The Go Center is a non-profit organization that has offices in many underprivileged high schools in Texas. At the Go Center, I help students from Trimble Tech High School with college and scholarship applications. I also answer any questions they have about the admittance process to college or college life in general. Now I am excited to start working for Frog Tutoring.
My method of tutoring is not to do the work for the student but to guide them through the process to find the right answer. When a student gets stuck on a particular problem, I usually try to create a similar problem in which we solve it together. After solving the sample problem, I have the student work the problem they had trouble with over again. Above all, in each tutoring session I try to emphasize encouragement and patience with those I am tutoring.
