Fun Facts
I absolutely love to cook and bake! My favorite things to bake are cookies and cupcakes. Also, I enjoy working out in my free time, especially running. I enjoy listening to music, and I started singing in choirs and musical theater settings at age 6. When I was 8, I broke both wrists at the same time and had to wear two pink casts for a long time!
About Me
I am a junior Psychology, BS Major with minors in Child Development and Communication Studies at Texas Christian University, at which I am also part of the Honors College. I have been a Dean's Scholar for all four semesters of my undergraduate career, and I am proud to say that I have maintained a 4.0 GPA for all undergraduate semesters. After my undergraduate degree, I hope to pursue a PhD in Educational Psychology or Experimental Psychology.
Experience
At my high school, I served as the Academic Prefect for the 2018-2019 school year, during which I helped to develop a peer tutoring program for fellow high school students. During my undergraduate career, I have been able to interact with children often as a part of a Developmental Psychology lab. Working for Frog Tutoring allows me to combine two of my passions: academics and working with children and other students!
Approach
I have been extremely fortunate to have teachers who have served as role models for my approach to learning and teaching. As a student, I always became anxious when teachers treated me in a condescending manner or acted frustrated when I did not understand coursework material. Therefore, as a tutor, I strive to act with kindness and respect towards my clients. Additionally, especially in younger clients, I take any opportunity to make learning for my clients fun with activities.
