About Me

I graduated from swarthmore-college">Swarthmore College, a prestigious liberal arts college in the northeast, with a double degree in Mathematics and Physics. This coming summer, I will be applying to medical schools with the hopes of entering the class of 2013. I chose to study mathematics and physics instead of the standard biology path for pre-med students because I wanted to challenge myself and expand my horizon. I've held various leadership positions throughout college and high school, including student council, club president, and treasure. I am very self-motivated and always give my best effort to anything I commit to!

In high school, I volunteered as a peer houston">tutor for chemistry and math (ranging from algebra to AP calculus). All throughout college, I served as a houston">tutor and clinician for various math and physics classes such as abstract algebra, calculus, classical mechanics, and electricity and magnetism. In the summers, I also tutored English, math, and piano to students ranging from middle school students to adults. My experience in college as a pre-medical student majoring in math and physics gave me the ability to houston">tutor a broad range of science subjects without sacrificing quality.

In general, I am very patient and easy-going, responsible and stress-free. When I houston">tutor, I try to pinpoint the students' weaknesses and improve their ability on the subject by repeated practice. After all, practice makes perfect! My students and peers have always told me that I am very good at explaining scientific concepts and integrating information into the bigger picture. I believe the question students should constantly be asking themselves is "why" instead of just "how." This way, students will learn how to study on their own and develop a good study habit.
