Fun Facts

A fun fact about me is that I love baseball. I have been playing since I was 5 or 6 years old and now even into my last year of college, I am still playing. It has been tough at times to balance my school work and commitment to my baseball team, but I have learned great time management skills to help me thrive in both areas.

About Me

I am a senior at Park University. I am currently studying mathematics and hope to continue studying into grad school. My goal is to acquire a PhD in Pure Mathematics and become a professor. I have been on the deans list every year I have been in college. I also have competed in multiple math competitions both in high school and the collegiate level. I am currently working with multiple professors at my school on original math research in the hopes of having our work published.

Experience

I have a year experience in tutoring dual credit AP Calculus. I started working with a high school senior who was at a failing grade in the course. I was able to help him raise his grade to one that he was proud to have on his college transcript. I worked with him both in persona and online.

Approach

I am someone who is passionate about math and I try to learn more and more about it each day. I believe that the best way to learn mathematics is to not just memorize formulas but to come to an understanding of the concepts as a whole. My goal is to help explain how and why mathematical topics work in order to give the student a better understanding and to ultimately help them solve problems much more easily and effectively.
