Fun Facts

I love to travel! When travelling, I get a broader view of things and am always learning about new cultures and concepts. Travelling is always fun as it is a great learning experience. It feels as though history is alive. I have been to several states and despite the states being in the same country (USA), there is so much to learn and explore. I have travelled a few times abroad as well, and that is also a great experience and I try to learn history before travelling for a better experience.

About Me

I am a second year Master's student studying science/new-york/new-york">Computer Science at Brooklyn College. I graduated with my first Bachelor's degree from The City College of New York with my B.S. in Psychology, double major in English. I graduated with my second Bachelor's degree in science/new-york/new-york">Computer Science from Queens College. I have experience teaching university level science/new-york/new-york">Computer Science courses and industry experience as a application developer in the industry. I also come with a pre-med background from early college years.

Experience

While I pursuing my undergraduate studies, I tutored many students of different backgrounds in several areas such as basic computer, math, English, science, history, and writing. During the summer of my second undergraduate studies I held summer workshops on a weekly basis to teach students various technologies, from introductory to advanced level. I also taught students while I was interning at the college during the regular semester during evening as students are busy with classes and work.

Approach

When working with others to help them understand a particular subject, I like to break things down into concepts and give examples. Understanding concepts gives students a better understanding of a particular subject and they can us it as a building block to build on. Whether it is the sciences or arts, having strong foundations help students learn better, so I like to focus on foundational concepts and also focus on the topic they are struggling in, and help them through multiple examples.
