When I'm not in the lab or the classroom, I love playing college hockey as well as hiking and backpacking!
About Me
I am a second year biological sciences PhD student with a research focus in astrobiology, origins of life, and evolution at the maryland">University of Maryland, Baltimore County. My ultimate goal is to become a professional researcher and/or academic professor in the field of evolution and astrobiology.
Experience
While in my PhD program, I work as a TA in multiple biological sciences topics. I am always eager to talk and teach the sciences, as the next generation is our foundation to new innovations and insights in science. Apart from my academic career, I have coached ice hockey to anyone willing to learn. This meant working with individuals as young as 6 and as old as 60. I always love helping, and there is something truly rewarding when seeing a pupil finally understand a topic.
Approach
I think one of the most important values a tutor can instill onto their student is resourcefulness and independence. My role as a tutor is to give the guidance and structure to make a pupil succeed. To do this one must have patience and slowly build the academic foundation from the roots up.
