About Me
I am a Junior at UM studying Nursing with minors in Spanish and Arabic. As you can imagine, that is quite a workload! However, all of this effort has personal value because I am passionate about traveling and community service. Recently, I traveled to Morocco, Paris and London to gain insight in the areas of culture, health care, and language. I plan to attend graduate school to gain a Doctorate of Nursing Practice in Anesthesia. At UM, I've been in a mentor program, Student Gov., and chair of a campus-wide service day.
My career as a miami">tutor began in High School. I tutored in English and Spanish through the National Honor Society and Spanish National Honor Society. In addition, I have worked as a nanny for many years, miami">tutoring children K-8 in all subjects. I work with the organization, InspireU, as a mentor for students at Booker T. Washington High School. I listen to my mentees, assess their needs and help them make the best decisions regarding their futures after high school. I do everything that I can for them from proofreading college application essays to ACT test prep! In addition, I work as a miami">tutor for the Athletic Dept. for athletes who need simple explanations of complicated topics in Spanish and Chemistry. I scored a 5 on both AP English Exams and can help students perfect writing skills.
Patience, Patience, Patience! I've been told that I have enough patience for three people. Most importantly, I listen to my student to discern the issue that they are having with their subject. Then, I work with the students to provide methods to strengthen their skills in that subject. In the past, I've made worksheets for my high school and college level Spanish and English students and created vocabulary and concept "Fill-in-the-blanks" for my Chemistry students. For my elementary age children, the methods are even more creative with fun flashcards, mnemonic devices, songs, etc. to remember topics!
