I am a HUGE music fan! Whenever I have some spare time I love listening to music or playing some on my guitar; which goes for hours on end. I also enjoy traveling, I want to be able to say that I have been to all 50 states. Other hobbies of mine include photography, exercising, and reading.
About Me
I graduated in the Spring of 2010 from The University of Texas at El Paso where I received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. This Spring semester is my first attending Florida International University for my Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering. I am fascinated by thermodynamics and fluid mechanics and enjoy it as much as I do teaching. I would like to work designing thermal fluid systems before returning to education to teach math or engineering.
During my junior year in college I began working at a local miami">tutoring center where I helped high school and college students with a number of math subjects. After two years I went on to work as a miami">tutor at El Paso Community College for a year before moving to Miami to continue my education. Both experiences were dynamic and not only strengthened my knowledge of mathematics but developed my teaching abilities. As a miami">tutor for Frog miami">Tutoring I am excited to continue down the path of education where I am able to assist others with their math needs.
As a miami">tutor, I begin a session by first asking the person what is giving them a hard time. Once the problem is established I break down the concept and help to illustrate its use through examples that I work out with the student. After working out a few samples I give the student some problems to try under my supervision so that I can assist them if they get stuck. I also like to encourage the student to take notes and ask plenty of questions to better understand the content and develop their study habits.
