Fun Facts

I am a self-identified math and science nerd. My favorite subject in school has always been science, because it allows me to do this, and to explore how the world around me works. Besides my passion for science and my fascination with math, I like dressing-up in costumes and going to events when we're not in the midst of a global pandemic. I used to frequent Renaissance fairs, science fiction conventions, Steampunk balls, theme parties, and any other excuse to dress-up and have goofy fun!

About Me

I am from New York, just outside of New York City. I am a native English speaker, but I can communicate to various degrees in Japanese, Hebrew, and American Sign Language. I am an experienced tutor and teacher with a Bachelor's degree in Physics and a concentration in Earth Science; as well as a Master’s degree in Geoscience.

Experience

I have been teaching and tutoring for almost 20 years.

Specifically my experience includes:
* Math (from basic math up through college calculus) including finance & accounting, statistics
* Sciences, including: Elementary School & Middle School General Science, Physical Science, Earth Science, Environmental Science, Chemistry, Physics, Astronomy, Meteorology, Biology, Engineering, Electronics, and even Sports Science, and Medical Sciences
* Computers & Technology
* Academic Writing & Vocab

Approach

I understand that we all have different learning styles and believe that no single approach will work for everyone. As such, I am flexible and adaptable as a tutor. I explain things in different ways, rather than just repeating the same thing over again if you do not get it. I try to help you figure-out what works best for you. My overall philosophy has always been that teaching should be student-centered and that learning should be fun. I look forward to working with you to meet your needs!
