Fun Facts
Most people are shocked to hear I am the first person in my family born in America; everyone else was born in Poland! Today I still carry on the tradition by hosting Pierogi nights with friends at my apartment. Aside from that, I enjoy photography, web design and hiking.
About Me
My undergraduate degree is a B.A. in History minoring in Secondary Education from the urbana-champaign">University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (3.75/4.00 . This degree was reading, writing and research intensive. I served as a member of various councils, history groups and education boards. Thereafter, I taught High School Social Science in private and public school settings.
I began chicago">tutoring my junior year of high school, mostly for reading and writing. Throughout college I worked for a government organization (America Reads & America Counts) providing chicago">tutoring services directly to kindergarten through sixth grade students to improve their reading and math proficiency skills. Even as a high school teacher, I provided at-home chicago">tutoring services for students who needed extra AP chicago">tutoring as well as students who were too sick to attend school.
What I enjoy about chicago">tutoring is the quality attention I can provide each student. It can be extremely difficult to assess, educate and provide remediation to everyone in a classroom of 30 students. My approach in chicago">tutoring can be described as patient, clear and encouraging. One of my favorite quotes is: “Failures are finger posts on the road to achievement.” - C.S. Lewis. My job as a chicago">tutor is to provide the support students need to embark on that journey towards academic success.
