Fun Facts
Something that not everyone knows about me is that I've been dancing since I was four years old and hip hop is probably my favorite and what I'm best at, which is funny because I don't look like it at all. Also I have never been out of the United States, but I plan to do medical work in Guatemala next summer. Another fun fact about me is that I cannot wink.
About Me
I am a Biology major with a Spanish and Chemistry minor, and I am on the Dean's List. I volunteered at Cook Children's Hospital for the past two years, and I hope to stay in Texas to attend medical school and love learning and helping others, especially kids!
In high school, I was a part of a mentoring program where seniors helped freshmen with their classes and homework. I also have helped fellow students in many biology, chemistry and physics study sessions during college. Also, I was a Big in TCU's pre-health Big/Little Program where I helped freshmen transition from high school to college and help them with their study methods and science classes.
I have always been very analytical in my thinking, and I believe this has really benefited me and those I have tutored because I explain things very well. I encourage students to ask a lot of questions and try to give a lot of my own personal advice as well from my own experiences. I think it is important to teach students concepts and similar problems, but not the original problems in order for them to use critical thinking and problem solving skills. I believe repetition is key in knowing the material and always having a positive attitude because the student needs to feel confident when working problems.
