One of my favorite things to do is make jewelry. Any time I have the opportunity to sit down and make a new piece, I jump at the chance. Others tend to be shocked when they complement a piece of jewelry, and I give it to them as a gift. I love to see people smile.

About Me

I am in my 13th year as an educator. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Northeastern State University and a Master's in Educational Leadership from the central-oklahoma">University of Central Oklahoma. I am passionate about education and helping students to succeed in the ever-changing world.

Experience

I've taught in the classroom for 12 years and as a tutor for 1 year. I've instructed students in 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 6th grade in the classroom. Throughout my career, I have had the pleasure of educating students from a variety of backgrounds and age groups. This has given me experience teaching students between the ages of 4-13.

Approach

My teaching philosophy is to make each time I meet with a student as engaging and as productive as possible. I believe a teacher should adjust to the student's needs by using strategies that best fit each student. I learned it's best to develop reasoning and critical thinking skills by asking open-ended questions and counseling the learner to form his or her inferences about topics. I have helped students achieve academic goals by filling knowledge gaps, modeling, and providing opportunities for students to practice knowledge to reach their intended goals.
