About Me
I'm a junior at Arizona State University majoring in developmental, cell and genetic biology. When I graduate, I hope to apply for medical school.
Experience
As part of the Amador Valley Peer Tutoring Program, I've had the opportunity as a volunteer tutor to teach other students in a one-on-one setting in various subjects, including biology, chemistry, anatomy and psychology. I was also a volunteer teacher at the International Tamil Academy, which held weekly classes for children ages 5-8 to improve their Tamil comprehension and writing skills.
Approach
In my middle school and high school years, I found reading textbooks to be incredibly daunting, and I would sometimes lose focus due to the sheer volume of the material. Biology Tutoring
I currently major in genetic biology, so I'm well versed in the concepts for general biology. I've also received A's for every bio-related class that I've taken so far. I have a good understanding of how to teach the material efficiently so that students are both prepared for exams and can apply the material to other related subjects.
Biology AP Tutoring

I have a good understanding of how to teach the material efficiently so that students are both prepared for exams and can apply the material to other related subjects. I also review past AP test questions so that students can understand the framework and how to tackle these questions.
Anatomy Physiology I Tutoring
I have taken anatomy for two semesters since I am a pre-med student, and received an A for both. I will also be a teaching assistant for the class next semester. In the past, i've hosted informal study sessions with other peers to prepare for upcoming tests.

Math Tutoring
I believe that repetition is key when it comes to success in math. I am thorough in my explanations and offer step-by-step walkthroughs so that students can understand how to solve the problem by themselves. I also find it easier to teach shortcuts whenever possible so that the student can improve on their speed along with their accuracy.
Reading Tutoring
For two semesters, I worked as a volunteer at Page Turners, an organization that holds weekly meetings at the Tempe Public Library to help elementary school students improve their comprehension skills. I also worked as a volunteer Tamil teacher to help students ages 5-8 improve their Tamil reading and writing literacy. I am patient and very thorough with younger children, knowing that they might need extra time with the material given to them.
