Fun Facts
One of the most defining characteristics about me is that I like to try anything and everything which leads to many different hobbies. Weightlifting, practicing guitar, and playing D&D are some of my favorites right now. I always look at life in a positive light and I am very passionate about learning and teaching.
About Me
I am currently a sophomore attending Arizona State University and a student in Barrett The Honors College. Currently, I am studying biology with an emphasis in genetics and cell biology and plan to go to graduate school to become a genetic research scientist. I have maintained a 4.0 GPA and have been put on the dean's list every semester I've been a college student.
Experience
As a member of the Science Detectives club at ASU, I have had formal experience teaching elementary-age students in all fields of science.
In high school, I founded my school's branch of Science National Honor Society which was founded on tutoring high school-age students in science classes. I was also a member of the National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta, both of which have given me experience with math tutoring with older students as well.
In my social group in college, I have lead many study sessions with my classmates and have been one of the go-to students when help is needed by my peers.
Approach
I approach tutoring with a patient and optimistic outlook. I know that there isn't a catch-all learning style that works for every student and I am committed to finding out how a student learns best and using that to help a student learn as efficiently and painlessly as possible.
