Fun Facts

A fun fact about me is that I love to sing, but I can't sing the songs on the radio without going an octave lower. Why? I am a tenor and even a bass at times. When I was in college, I was sometimes the only tenor and I'm a girl! I thought it was pretty cool. I'm not a great singer, but I think I'm okay and I do enjoy it and will belt out a good song in the car or while I'm doing chores.

About Me

I have been teaching for nine years and really enjoy the moments when we get to learn and grow together. I struggled myself in school so as a teacher, I try to provide several different strategies to there are options to figure out which one works best for you. Learning can be hard, but it is also fun so let's dig in and see what we can accomplish together!

Experience

I am in my seventh year of middle school at an inner city public school where I have the privilege to work with a diverse population of students as well as many EL students. Prior to that, I worked at a childcare center where I was a lead teacher and Director of Operations. I worked with younger children using High Scope curriculum. While I was in college and before, I worked as a paraprofessional, a substitute, and tutored. Babies up to adults, I have helped them all and I can help you, too!

Approach

I struggled in school and even in college, but I persevered through hard work, dedication, and tutors. I believe in an I CAN attitude and a NOT YET attitude. Just because you don't know it know or can't do it know doesn't mean you don't have the ability to or that you won't be able to later. WE will work up to that point. Learning is a process and everything doesn't come right away. It's okay not to get the right answers if you understand why the answers are wrong; content and process.
