I love to travel. Experiencing other cultures around the world is thrilling for me. Living with a Spanish speaking family in a rural town in Spain was my favorite travel experience, because I had the opportunity to immerse myself in the culture directly, instead of simply observing it as a tourist.
About Me
I recently completed my Master's degree in Spanish with a concentration in Spanish literature from Temple University. My GPA was 3.74. Before that, I earned my Bachelor's degree in Spanish from the University of Pennsylvania, where I graduated Cum Laude.
In high school, I formally tutored elementary school children in Spanish. During college and graduate school, I was always helping other students learn both the Spanish language and Spanish literature, in both a group setting and one-on-one sessions. I am comfortable philadelphia">tutoring students in both the Spanish language and Spanish literature.
Learning another language is not something that happens passively. Instead, students need to actively use their minds in order to successfully acquire new language skills. In my philadelphia">tutoring approach, I am able to come up with unique mnemonic devices and other ways of remembering information, which I love to share with students. In addition, I believe that repetition, practice exercises and visualization are powerful and important tools to use while philadelphia">tutoring. I also assign homework, and encourage students not to be afraid to ask questions.
