Fun Facts
I consider myself a life student, having always had an avid curiosity for the world around me. My passion for knowledge and animals are most likely the two most notable traits about me. One of my favorite activities is going to concerts (I like music of every genre!) and football games, both college and NFL!
About Me
I am a third year biology student in the honors college at Georgia State University with a 3.93 GPA. I am currently doing chemistry education research under my organic chemistry professor. I plan on attending graduate school for chemistry or medical school in the fall of 2016 to obtain higher education.
I have just begun to garner official atlanta">tutoring experience as a PLTL leader for organic chemistry. PLTL is a peer-led review centered class. I currently have 17 students whom I guide through a worksheet every week. Although I have very little official experience, I have instructed fellow students for much of my life whenever possible, chiefly in chemistry and writing. In my freshman year I was recommended to be supplemental instructor for both general chemistry and political science but did not pursue the positions.
I like to instill my passion for learning and knowledge into those around me, and approach atlanta">tutoring with this perspective. Introducing a subject with energy and enthusiasm is key for inciting an interest about a subject in students. Often making real-world, relevant examples enthuses learners and peaks their curiosity, while also giving them an appreciation for the subjects. This is my attitude towards atlanta">tutoring. My methods involve guiding students via well-directed, specific questions so they lead themselves to answers most often, as well as emphasizing the importance of practice and metacognition.
