Fun Facts
I love to travel and see new places. One of my passions is waking up on a Saturday morning, choosing a place to go, and exploring a new city. One of my favorite things about travelling is talking to locals and experiencing local food and drink. I think that those are some of the best ways to get to know a new city and truly experience its flavor.
About Me
I am a first year graduate student at Georgia State University pursuing a degree in English Literature. I graduated Cum Laude from the University of North Georgia with a Bachelor's degree in English Literature. I am a lifetime member of Sigma Tau Delta, English Honor Society, which is dedicated to fostering literacy. Ultimately, I would love to complete my degree, go on to get my Doctorate, and teach at the University level.
When I was in high school, I tutored a girl with learning disabilities in third grade math. I found it extremely rewarding to help her achieve her goals. Her main struggle was with focus and remaining engaged in the content. I was able to help her by giving her another level of accountability and a safety net for when she felt stuck so that she would not become frustrated.

I remember how hard it was to struggle with something that seemed to come so easily to other people. With time, I learned that needing help in some areas doesn't diminish your talents in other places. I believe that struggling with an area is not at all indicative of who you are as a person. I also believe that one of the biggest things that can hold someone back (myself included) is fear. Gaining confidence and feeling comfortable are vital to learning to succeed. More than mastering the content, I feel that learning strategies that carry over into all areas are the most helpful.
