Fun Facts

As a Peace Corps volunteer, I began teaching at the Université Nationale du Rwanda in Butare (Huye) Rwanda, where I taught composition and literature. Rwanda's international language at the time was French, and the English Department actually reported to the French faculty. Prior to my posting, I received ESL training in Bukavu, Congo.

About Me

I have worked as a technical writer and instructional designer. As a long time video producer, my travels took me often to Mexico, Central America, and South America. I've worked in the UK, France, Switzerland, Germany, and Denmark. I've also shot video in Singapore, Korea, and Dubai.

Experience

I've taught technical writing a various Bay Area colleges and universities for more than ten years including UC Berkeley Extension and a semester for College of Marin inside San Quentin State Penitentiary. I've taught college-level composition and literature and worked at an inner-city high school as an English paraprofessional.

Approach

Progress is the best measure of success. Rather than comparing students one to another, I want to see an individual move forward in their English skills.
