Fun Facts
I'm a redhead with interests in every area: I was captain of my soccer team, student body president, and president of the marching band in high school. I like just about every type of music there is, including boy bands, hip hop, country, Beyoncé, and 80s rock. I love soccer and running, and I hope to try a full marathon this coming May! I'd have to say the most unusual fact about me is that I competed in the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C. in seventh grade.
About Me
I am currently a senior Political Science major at The Ohio State University. I am also pursuing two minors - Globalization Studies and History - and I am Captain of our university's Mock Trial team. Upon graduating, I hope to attend law school in the fall of 2015 with the eventual goal of becoming an attorney in a major urban area.
Growing up as a straight-A student with four younger siblings made me the go-to columbus">tutor for all age groups and subjects, whether it was math-elementary/ohio/columbus">elementary math for my youngest brother, middle school history for my sister, or AP English courses for my brothers in high school. This translated naturally into a similar collegiate role - many of my former roommates and classmates regularly ask me to edit their papers or explain a concept to them in virtually any field! I also served as an elementary school aide during my senior year of high school, where I had the opportunity to work with second-grade students.
I have always found that every student learns differently, so in columbus">tutoring, I try to mold my teaching to each student's strongest skill sets! For visual learners, I've used goofy drawings and color-coded organization; for athletes and ESPN fanatics, I use sports analogies - I truly believe that columbus">tutoring, like learning, is extremely individualistic. Above all else, I think that positivity and organization are the two simple keys to success!
