Fun Facts
I've recently come back from traveling Europe. I lived in Spain, Italy and Paris, each country for a little more than a month. It has opened my eyes to new cultures and sparked a new found interest in traveling and learning new languages! I think I'm a little homesick at home! I also love to draw, write and play the piano. I love animals too; nobody holds my heart like my little chubby daschund, Rosie!!
About Me
I am a St. Johns University, third year student majoring in Childhood Education. I'm completing my Masters with dual certification in both regular and Special Ed. In the future, I would love to graduate and start teaching English in Rome, Italy.
As my major calls for it, I have tons of experience being in and outside the classroom with students from all abilities and ages K-6. I have been a 1:1 aide, along with a teachers assistant, working directly with students on homework, class work and projects. I am currently a writing teacher in a Chinese after-school program where I work with students developing their English reading, writing and speaking skills.
As a future teacher, one of my most important duties is being a mentor and constant form of encouragement to my students. I understand school can be very difficult and boring at times, and I hope to be a source of knowledge that makes learning fun. I always like to find out the strengths and weaknesses of my students. That way, I can build a lesson plan catering to his or her specific needs. We can reinforce any of the material he or she knows, while building up skills for the subjects the student is having difficulty with.
