I have an Etsy store full of chunk yarn products. I also have a gluten-free recipe blog. I have lived in seven different states and traveled to some countries in Europe as well as Costa Rica. I'm learning how to code using HTML and CSS. I love learning new things and trying new skills!

About Me

Hello! My name is Leah and I’m so excited to be with you on your learning journey. First, I would like to tell you a little about myself. I am a homeschool mom of three, and I have truly found my passion in teaching! I teach all kinds of subjects from cores subjects to different random subjects that my kids want to learn. I have two ginger cats and one big black dog. I really enjoy meeting new people and learning from my students so I’m very excited to meet you! See you in the classroom!

Experience

I have been teaching kids English as a second language for six years, and I have earned a 120-hour TESOL/TEFL certification with the World TESOL Academy. I have taught ESL to kids ages 3 to 14 as well as adults. I have a B.S. in Health and Wellness from Purdue University. I was also in the honors society at both colleges that I attended.

Approach

I like to incorporate different teaching methods into each of my classes, such as reading, writing, listening, and speaking. I also do my best to teach each child in a way that is most beneficial to them. Some children are visual learners, while others are auditory learners. I understand that each child is different and needs a different approach in the classroom. I like to try to have a relaxed classroom atmosphere because learning should be fun!
