My motto about french: "Le francaise est la plus jolie language du monde, parce que c'est comme de la musique". ( French is the most beautif language in the world because it is like music.)

About Me

I am semi-retired and applying for a book grant for a memoir.
I loved being a nanny (fille au pair) in Paris in the late 1980's.
I taught french K-12 at The Cornerstone School in Austin, TX from 1990-1993.
I continued to tutor privately for years.
I am networking with The Alliance Francaise in Denver next year.
I studied latin my senior year at U.T. Austin and then threw myself into Paris, studying as much as possible the first year and attending classes at The Alliance Francaise, Paris.
I am still deeply connected to my family there and am looking forward to getting back into teaching and tutoring.
I studied at The University of Paris as a foreigner, after having placed well enough to receive a 3.5 GPA for my program course.

Experience

French Teacher and tutor at The Cornerstone School, Austin, TX 1990-1993.
K-12.
My challenge was my second group was about 10 students on different levels and all in the 1-12 grade categories.
We all read and enjoyed "The Little Prince (in french) together and it was truly a wonderful experience for them all as well as myself.

Approach

If learning is fun, children remember.
I am a musician and enjoy creative learning strategies. My time raising two young girls in Paris was indispensable for teaching.
I wrote a children's nursery rhyme for the Christmas Program and my students performed for their parents. It was awesome!
