Fun Facts
One passion of mine is running. I love competing with myself when I run and I transfer that competitiveness to my 2nd grade students!
I also love painting abstract art. Oh, and I love tearing apart literature and finding deep meaning!
About Me
I have been teaching in Clovis Unified for 19 years. I have taught 6th grade, 4th grade, and 2nd grade. I have a 13-year-old, a 10-year-old, and a 6-year-old. I coach volleyball and basketball and I am an adjunct professor at National University.
Experience
I am a well-rounded teacher that has led and participated in many seminars and professional development. I enjoy learning new methods of teaching. I enjoy self-reflecting and improving my own teaching skills and philosophies.
I have also taught summer school to students that were below level and needed new approaches to learning,
Approach
My approach is to lead students to take risks and try new things. I want them to feel comfortable taking a leap knowing that I will make sure that they won't get hurt. I want to teach kids to be confident learners and find the path that works best for them...under my watchful eye.
