I am the youngest of 4, and I've lived in Southern California all my life! I LOVE reading and would consider myself a dog person with a cat.

About Me

I have a Bachelor's in English education. I have been professionally trained mainly in secondary and higher education, but also in elementary and ESL education.

Experience

I am a professionally trained tutor with six years of experience. I've worked as a tutor with:
1) Elementary School kids helping with ELA and Math (2 years)
2) First and Second year College Students at Fullerton College helping with college writing (4 years)
3) English Language Learners helping with test taking (specifically Versant and college ESL classes).

Approach

I am a huge advocate of growth mindset. Whether you're seven years old or seventy, we can all learn new skills and develop our brains. I celebrate a students work ethic instead of their "natural ability-" we're all learning all the time! No skills are fixed; we can grow in any skill at any time! I hold my students accountable and celebrate their growth, especially after trying again after failure. Failure is essential to learning!
