About Me

I have 20 years of experience teaching students of all ages. I am a certified ESL teacher as well as a certified K-8 educator. I have been selected as "Teacher of the Year" two times in recent years and was among the top ten finalists in 2018.

Experience

I have more than TWENTY YEARS of experience teaching in private and public school settings! I have a bachelors degree in elementary education from New Mexico State University and I have been a certified teacher working with ESL students for over thirteen years. I live in a state that borders the country of Mexico, so there has been ample opportunity to teach English to students with other native languages. I have face-to-face experience teaching every grade level from Kindergarten through 8th gr

Approach

I am a passionate, energetic and joyful teacher. My students say I’m funny and kind. Some feedback I’ve received from parents include that I am strong with scaffolding, extension and the use of props (to name only a few). I enjoy using multiple approaches for different learning styles.
