Fun Facts
When I thirteen years old, I started learning an Indian classical dance, Odissi, and made dance one of my passions. I am now a senior student and assistance dance teacher at Odissi Kalamandir. I hope to continue dance as long as I can because I am the happiest when I do.
I also professionally cake decorate and have been doing so for 4 years now. It is a fun and relaxing hobby for me!
About Me
I am junior pre-med at UT-Dallas majoring in Biology and minoring in Psychology and Healthcare studies. I am the Vice- President of the Neuroscience Students Association and am involved in other volunteer associations outside of campus such as Ananda Marga and Keep Irving Beautiful. I plan on going to med school at UT-Southwestern and studying to become a physician or a neurosurgeon.
In high school, I was involved in the high school dallas">tutoring program, "TAG Peer-to-Peer." I tutored my fellow classmates in Geometry, Calculus AB, Calculus BC, and AP Chemistry. dallas">Tutoring strengthened me in those subjects as teaching someone else is the best way to learn. When a student finally understands a concept they once deemed difficult, the smile of satisfaction is very rewarding. I plan on continuing dallas">tutoring in college because helping others always makes me feel as if I have made a small difference in another's life.
My favorite teacher in high school was my AP Physics C teacher because she was involved with each student's learning. She would guide us through problem solving, but never directly give us the answer. Each student is different and learns differently and I would like to approach each one in a way that is best for them. I am currently taking an Educational Psychology class where I learn the best techniques for teaching and how to keep students motivated to learn and work hard. I think students emulates what their teacher is like so if I focus, work hard, and show perseverance in getting to the right answer, so will they.
