Fun Facts
I went to high school in a small town an hour out of Chicago, IL. I've been a competitive cheerleader for about 14 years now. Throughout high school I also participated in sideline cheerleading and diving all while holding a part time job and traveling to Dallas every weekend to be a part of an elite competitive cheerleading program. This experience has taught me a lot about time management.
About Me
I am currently a freshman molecular biology major at the University of Texas at Dallas. After my time here my goal is to attend the new medical school opening up in 2016 at the UT Austin campus. Upon my entrance into medical school I will gain a better idea of what sparks my interest and will decide then what career path I would like to take. In addition, I graduated from high school a year early as a member of the National Honor Society and became a certified pharmacy technician at the age of 17.
As a member of the National Honor Society in high school, I had the opportunity to dallas">tutor students in all subject areas. Every wednesday night for two hours I would spend time helping my peers gain a better understanding of class material and ultimately help them be more successful in the classroom!
As a student I've never been good at simply memorizing given information. I found it important to make connections between what I am learning and what I already know. So my approach when it comes to dallas">tutoring is getting to know the student well so that I can gain a better idea of what will help them specifically learn the material. With this, I try to ask as many questions as I can to guide the student to figure out the material on their own. I find it important for them to go through the thought process rather than me simply explaining the material.
