Fun Facts
My favorite hobby that I enjoy doing is dancing. I have danced for 10 years now and have competed for 3 years. I absolutely love kids and I am working towards being a pediatric occupational therapist one day. This past summer I studied abroad in South Africa and taught in 2 schools. Typically I try to stay within my comfort zone but decided to venture out and gain new perspectives.
About Me
I am a junior at the charlotte">UNC Charlotte. I am completing my bachelors degree in education/north-carolina/charlotte">special education and will attain my Masters degree in Occupational Therapy. I currently have a 4.0 GPA and have been on the presidents list every semester! I attended Campbell University my freshman year of college where I studied Biology.
I have lots of charlotte">tutoring experience. I started charlotte">tutoring in high school when I was completing my volunteer hours for the National Honors Society. I also volunteered once a week at my local church charlotte">tutoring under-privileged students who couldn't afford a charlotte">tutor. Last year, I completed a semester long internship as a teaching assistant in a low resource school. This summer, I taught in a high resource school in South Africa as well as a low resource school in South Africa. I have gained multiple perspectives throughout the years on different teaching and charlotte">tutoring techniques.
Throughout all my charlotte">tutoring and teaching experiences, I have learned valuable tools when working with students one on one. I have learned that positivity, organization, persistence, and study skills are key to success. Students tend to become down when they don't understand a question or cant figure out the correct answer. My goal is to use positivity and to guide them in the right direction so they can find the answer. Growing up, my mother was the never the type to do my homework for me or to give me the answers to difficult problems. She helped me understand difficult concepts in questions and broke down the question into segments. I plan to use this approach when charlotte">tutoring and teaching new and difficult concepts to all learners.
