About Me
I am a senior Psychology Major with a public health minor and a Bonner Scholar at Earlham College! I am also a co-convener of the Earlham College Active Minds chapter, who works to provide social support for students.
Experience
As a Bonner Scholar, I have worked with children for two years, and have specifically tutored for one year. I have experience working with children that have ADHD.
Approach
When I was young, I struggled in school and was afraid to ask for help. I want to create an environment where my students not only feel comfortable asking for help but also feel comfortable telling me a certain method or tool is not working for them. I work to instill confidence in the students so that they want to apply what we do in our sessions during the school day. I strive to build relationships that emphasize trust, acceptance, and patience with my students. Once that relationship starts

Study Skills Tutoring
I am a senior psychology major, who has had a fair share of studying fails and successes. I was able to find my successful study plan, and want to help others find theirs. I can help with not just study skills, but time management and balancing all aspects of college to help the student be successful , and happy with their college experience. I like using my psychology major to find brain hacks to make studying enjoyable.
Homework Coach Tutoring
In high school, we had eight classes instead of seven, so I am well versed In the organization of class materials. I know that it can be hard to get started on tasks, and sometimes you need someone to guide you through those tasks and make them dooable. I was that person for my younger sibling, and want to be that person for you!

Writing Tutoring
I have over a year of experience with kids in grades k-5 working on spelling and writing. I have specifically worked on sounding out words and working on various uses of punctuation and grammar. I like to get creative with this and have fun!
Reading Tutoring
I have worked with grades 2,3, and 5 on reading. With this area of study, I help with sounding out words and reading with expression. We look for context clues to identify what expression needs to be used. Reading often incorporates other areas of study like spelling. I will often be able to work on spelling and reading at the same time, these two subjects often help each other.
Voice (Music) Tutoring
I have been singing since I remember and have been in and out of choirs and musicals from elementary age. I went to a music camp for voice, and have been taking college-level voice lessons for four years. Learning posture and breathing techniques will not only help develop your craft, but are good practices for everyday life.
Basic Computer Skills Tutoring
As a college student that took classes online for about a year, I have a lot of experience with computers. I also volunteered at a retirement community and was able to help with various questions and tasks that were done on the computer.
