About Me
I attended the University of Texas-Pan American in Edinburg, TX and majored in Biology and History with a minor in Chemistry and graduated in May of 2013. I am currently in graduate school at the University of Texas-Health Science Center at Houston getting my Masters in Public Health with a concentration in Epidemiology and have a current GPA of 3.5.. My plans are to eventually go to medical school to become a physician of internal medicine and work with non-profits that offer medical services in under-developed areas and countries. I have a great passion for helping people in any way I can be of service.
I have tutored in subjects mainly in science, math, history, and social sciences. I have been austin">tutoring for about 3 years and typically austin">tutor high school, college, and aid in test prep. My austin">tutoring experience has given me great satisfaction and has allowed me to expand my skill set. I have also been a grader for biology and know the process of preparing quizzes and tests for better understanding of problem areas that occur.
My approach to austin">tutoring depends on the student, whether they are visual or hands on, fast or slow, and their understanding of the material. I typically like to go through an assignment or quiz first, complete it while making notes of the problem area then focus on the parts they had more difficulty grasping. I also like to challenge students so they can reach their full potential; this includes engaging them in deep process understanding and asking question so when students finally have their 'a-ha' moment it was accomplished based on their own understanding of the material.
