Fun Facts
I'm a huge lover of the arts and have past experience in theatre and acting. My biggest passion would be for film, as I have been screenwriting since I was fourteen and am continuing to pursue this in college. I also have been designing and selling jewelry since I was eight and even ran my own Etsy store throughout high school.
About Me
I'm a first-year student at Loyola Marymount University with sophomore standing. I'm currently majoring in English and plan on adding a screenwriting minor. Some of my academic achievements include earning a 4.00 GPA this semester and making it onto the Dean's list. In high school, I took nine AP classes, which consisted of English, history, and language courses. Additionally, I took Spanish classes throughout high school and also took Spanish Stylistics and Composition this past fall semester at LMU. In the future, I plan on working as a writer or teaching in academia.
Experience
From September 2019 to March 2020, I tutored elementary school students as a part of the San Dieguito Alliance after-school program. I tutored in multiple subjects, including English, reading comprehension, and social studies.
Approach
One learning approach I personally found very helpful throughout my academic career was breaking down larger, more complicated concepts into smaller, more comprehensible concepts. I also found this to work when tutoring other students. If they didn't understand a certain concept or what was being asked of them, I would rephrase what was being asked in a way that they could understand. This way, more daunting or challenging questions can be approached step by step.
