Fun Facts
One passion people quickly learn about me is that I love music, art, and literature. I grew up on a farm in rural Washington, but have roots in big cities. My mother is Chilean, and I often visit Santiago Chile. I also recently lived in San Francisco for two years, which was a lot of fun. Another fun fact, I grew up in the area of the Twilight series! Though I haven't read the books, I am still a fan.
About Me
I am getting a master's degree in TESOL (teaching English to students of other languages), with an emphasis in Ed Tech, from the University of San Francisco. Studying is my life right now. Eventually I would like to teach within higher education, but I am open to working with students of all age groups.
Experience
I have worked in numerous tutoring non-profits, both dedicated to academics and writing coaching, and teaching English (ESL). I am currently wrapping up my master's, having been a teacher's assistant for several community college classes. I have also worked closely with families as a pod teacher during COVID, and am familiar working with students virtually.
Approach
I know I am meeting my students where they are when I can make them laugh. From this place, I take it very seriously to ensure students are meeting their academic goals, bringing their all to tutoring, and finishing all their assignments. If I am creating the curriculum, I ensure that my students are front and center, seeing that their needs are met.
