About Me

I am a certified K-5 teacher and I homeschool my 10 year old daughter. I have my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Arizona State University and my Master’s degree in Elementary Education, also from Arizona State. I have taught swim lessons for 15 years, it is so much fun! I specialize in child development and reading. I would love to help your child get to grade level or above!

Experience

I taught first grade before having my daughter while congruently teaching swim lessons. I have loved the flexibility of being able to homeschool my daughter and teach swim lessons. I still get to work with kids in a teaching setting and I find so much joy in seeing them progress in all aspects of their lives.

Approach

Being a parent and watching my child struggle with ADHD has been really hard. She has had some teachers in the past who "get her" and some that just don't. Children are not meant to be stuck at a desk with a worksheet. There are MANY ways of differentiated learning that can meet students needs. I think it is so important to teach the child the way THEY learn. If that approach is taken then their will be higher retention and engagement.
