Fun Facts

I remember the day I saw my first tennis match on ESPN. I was immediately drawn to everything that pertained to the game from the speed the player strike the ball to how gracefully the players move around the court. Ever since that day, I have loved playing and watching tennis. I also enjoy playing ping pong, jigsaw puzzle making, and I have a Chihuahua named Oso, meaning bear in spanish.

About Me

I am currently attending the chicago">University of Illinois at Chicago. I am majoring in Biological Sciences and I am undecided minoring in Chemistry. I am a transfer student from Moraine Valley Community College and I'm a junior at UIC. My current GPA is a 4.0. My educational goal is Pre-med and I hope on becoming a Forensic Pathologist in the future. In high school, I was named an Illinois State Scholar and at Moraine Valley I was awarded the Distinguished Scholar Award. This allowed me to attend Moraine tuition free.

I have been the family chicago">tutor for all my younger cousins. My aunts bring my cousins when they need help on their school work. About two years ago, I started to regularly chicago">tutor my then ten year old cousin. He is now in seven grade and I still continue to chicago">tutor him. For my community service for the National Honor Society, I tutored elementary school children from my childhood elementary school. I really enjoyed the experience.

I have been very blessed in school to have had ,for the most part, great teachers specially all my math teachers. My math teachers all taught with the same approach. They always provided great examples in their lectures and my math teachers always made sure that all the students understood the section being taught thoroughly before moving on to the next section. This meant asking all the questions the students wanted to ask to understand the section and my teachers even provided more examples on the section. This was specially useful since math is one of the hardest subjects in school. This is the same approach that I use with my cousins and the young children I used to chicago">tutor. This approach lets me know that the student understand the subject.
