In my free time I love to listen to music and write in the woods. I also work in carpentry and was on a national championship winning Ultimate Frisbee team.
About Me
I am a recent graduate from Western Washington University with a Bachelor's in science/washington/seattle">Computer Science/Mathematics and another in Behavioral Neuroscience. I've worked in Neuroscience labs developing and conducting experiments but I'd like to someday be a High School counselor.
Experience
I was head tutor at the Western Washington University tutoring center where I helped students in Physics, Chemistry, Math, science/washington/seattle">Computer Science, and Biology. I also lead study groups in various subjects for the tutoring center. Finally, I've done some private tutoring for high schoolers.
Approach
In my experience, there are endless paths to gain an understanding of scientific and mathematical concepts. I love to explore these ideas by first talking about questions that intrigue students connecting those questions to the task at hand. My comprehensive knowledge of science and math allows me to make connections to concepts that at first seem far off from a question on a homework assignment and I have a talent for relating these connections to students.
