Fun Facts

I spent most of my summers as a child at my grandparents cottage on a lake in Ohio where we we go boating and swimming and just have carefree family time. Because of this experience growing up I became passionate about boating and have been a avid boater ever since. I currently live on a boat with boyfriend and have enjoyed exploring both the east and west coasts of the United States.

About Me

I have a Bachelor's degree in Literature and Writing with an emphasis in French Literature from the University of California San Diego. I have a Master's Degree in Early Childhood education/california/san-diego">Special Education with an emphasis in Autism and Behavior Management.

Experience

I have been an Early Childhood education/california/san-diego">Special Education Teacher in San Diego Unified School District for 10 years where I have helped numerous students achieve their academic goals. In my classroom I work closely and collaboratively with: Speech Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist and Adaptive Physical Education Teachers.

Approach

I loved school as a child but as I got older I found school to be boring and had a hard time staying focused and motived. I know if I could have had the right kind of teachers who could have captured my attention and helped to me stay on task I would have achieved a lot more. As an educator I make a point of getting to know all of my students and can adapt any program to fit their specific needs in order to help them achieve success.
