Fun Facts
I love any kind of adventure! On my free time, I enjoy playing beach volleyball and going hiking with my two puppies. I have also traveled to Italy to visit family and Africa to complete some community service with orphanages. Lastly, I have been sky diving, zip lining, and parasailing. Although it seems I have had tons of adventure, there are still many things left on my bucket list!
About Me
I recently graduated from the redlands">University of Redlands with majors in Mathematics and Liberal Studies along with a minor in Religious Studies. I am currently completing my student teaching in Newport in order to receive my single subject teaching credentials.
I started tutoring in high school, where I mainly tutored middle school students in Mathematics. This is where my love for teaching began. Then, upon attending the redlands">University of Redlands, I began working at the Boys and Girls Club of Redlands, where I tutored children of many ages in many different subjects. During the summers while in college, I tutored for the Tutoring Center in Long Beach where I mainly tutored mathematics (one being a Calculus student). From there, I began my own tutoring business where I tutor students in my hometown.
I like to approach a new tutoring situation by learning and understanding my student's strengths and weaknesses, likes and dislikes, etc. This way I can keep the environment open and spontaneous! I also know what it feels like to be intimidated and judged by a teacher due to my questions or lack of understanding. Learning from this allowed me to be aware of how my student is feeling at all times, whether it is towards the lesson or my approach.
