I love learning new languages and traveling. I speak 5 languages (Bengali, Hindi, Urdu, Arabic, Punjabi) other than English. My favorite sport is soccer. I like to refer to it as football. I try to play twice a week. And I support Manchester United in English Premier League. Other than that I love to write short stories and articles when I am free.

About Me

Hi! I am Sajid. I go to Hunter College in New York City. I am currently a senior double majoring in media studies and public policy. I am graduating in Spring 2015. After I graduate, I hope to travel for a period of time. I am planning to go to graduate school for either marketing, journalism, or international affairs. I hope to someday work in marketing, advertising, or public relations, so basically something media related. I am currently working as the men's lifestyle editor of a magazine called Cult.(ure).

I worked as an teaching assistant during my senior year of high school in the after school ESL program. I tutored students in math, history and english. I worked with a single student at a time, but sometimes I had to work with a teacher as a teaching assistant. After high school, I continued to work as a private queens">tutor. I worked with students from elementary to high school queens">tutoring them in wide ranging subjects. I worked with some college students, queens">tutoring them in history and writing.

I try to follow the methods of my favorite teachers. I believe in active learning. I like to discuss the subjects with my students so they can develop critical leaning skills. I try to think about the long term. I try to prepare my students for the future, and I put a lot of emphasis on writing skills. I like to develop my students into effective learner and instill in them communication skills which are necessary to be successful in every subject. Whatever I am teaching them, I hope they are able to apply it to not only on tests, but also on the real world.
